J&T has manufactured a wide range of foam-based acoustical materials over the years. Whether you want the foam on its own or with a barrier material, we can design a system to work for your unique situation.

We consider our closed cell foams to be 'sound blockers' which usually requires heavy, dense and thick materials. These materials are often used in multi-layered assemblies so that sound will not penetrate or pass through.

The more common open cell urethane foam is considered a 'sound absorber' which helps prevent sound from continuing to bounce and echo. Absorption occurs when the sound 'energy' is disrupted and converted into heat through the open cell structure of the foam.
